Dear Metro...

Dear Metro Bus Systems,
I have been a dedicated commuter since 2006 and at times even enjoyed the hour and a half I spend on your vial seats every day. I have depended on you to get me to and from work in a timely manner, and I even overlooked the snowpocalypse of 2008 when you left me stranded in downtown Seattle for the night.

But I must admit, the past few week you have disappointed me. You have not once but twice made me more than an hour late getting home in the past two weeks.

The first time, I admit was not your fault entirely as there was an accident on the 1st south bridge, but you couldn't have alerted the bus drivers? You couldn't have given them more information than " There's something going on at the 1st south bridge". I spent two hours on the bus that night.

But last night was a night that shakes my faith in the Metro bus system of Seattle. As we were going to get on 509, the bus driver pulls over because his windshield wipers were not working. He was not able to get them going, I do not blame the bus driver for this snafu, but I blame you. Did you really send out a bus without the windshield wipers not working - in SEATTLE! The chances of it NOT raining on any given day in November is like 3%. In addition to that, you so ill equip your drivers that you cannot give them a simple set of tools or instructions to fix something like this on the fly? It took me one and a half hours to get home last night... over windshield wipers, that I could have fixed!

Then the bus driver, as he was "Sorry for the delay" allowed multiple passengers to get off the bus without paying, but hassled me for my fare.

Shame shame...
I guess there is a plus side... I get to look forward to Snowpocalypse 2010 with you this year I'm sure. Should I just reserve my room at the 6th Avenue inn now and send you the bill?

♥ your dedicated rider,
Abby
