I've been MIA around here, because we've been on vacation in Texas! Our dear friend Laurel lives down there and we have always wanted to visit so the stars aligned and we found ourselves on a plane to DFW on the 22nd of June.
After a little switch of airlines and flights at the airport, we were on a non stop flight to Dallas Fort Worth (DFW). Laurel picked us up at the airport and we headed straight to Braum's Ice Cream and Dairy Store. It's apparently a well loved ice cream spot in Texas, and we were quick to understand why. Eric had a pineapple upside down cake shake and I had a caramel cookie dough shake along with chicken strips, a burger, fries and GRAVY. This meal was a good indicator of how crappy we'd eat on this trip! Here's a sweep shot of Braum's, it's kind of weird with the supermarket right next to the fastfood / shake area. We fell instantly in love with this ice cream, and if we have one regret from this trip it's that we only got to eat here once.
We then hit the road to Killeen, which is where Laurel lives, and where we were going to call "home base" for the trip. It's about 2.5 hours south of Dallas / Fort Worth area.
We shared our laps and back seat with Parker and Phoebe which are Laurel's furry kids.
We were happy to oblige, having them around really helped us not miss Aquaman quite as much.
Parker sat in the back with me, and Phoebe made Eric's lap up front her home.
Once we got home to Killeen we headed straight to Laurel's and then to bed. We were exhausted from making the trek and had a full day ahead of us the next day.
The Doggy's were plenty tired too, this is what Parker does when he's tired, he just sits and gnaws on his toy, it's quite cute.
