Sunday August 18th 2013 - My Grandpa Harvey went to his eternal home.
Being a Christian man all his life, I type with confidence that Jesus danced when he called Harvey home, and now they're up there preparing a place for the rest of us.
He had been sick for so long that I barley remember his healthier days.
But when I look back at these photos of him, I smile, sigh and relish the past.
Eric and I piled into our car with Aquaman on the Tuesday following his news, I couldn't wait to be home and in my Grandma's arms. How heart broken she must be losing the love of her life for the past 63 years.
This trip gave me more than I gave it.
Appreciation, love and respect for a family that I've always had, but have never appreciated enough.
A family that Grandpa and Grandma created - and cherished, and loved, and helped grow.
Which all started at the base of Love, and happiness.
What a shining example we have in our family. A shining example of love, and trust, and encouragement.
Grandma, I know you miss him, but we're so glad he's home and happy again.
Grandpa, thank you for teaching me how to be a good, humble person. To be "Salt of the earth" and to have passion for the greater things in life. Thank you for helping me love my family, and be a contributing member.
Thank you for all the memories, the jokes, the laughs, and the kisses on the cheek.
You are so missed, but we know you're smiling down on us, and I'm so proud to have had such a wonderful Grandpa for your 86 years.
