This is my 9th Christmas in Washington and I have never once gone to see any tree lighting ceremony's which are awfully popular out here!
This year, Eric and I got a wild hair and decided to head down to the Des Moines Tree lighting on Friday night.
It was a lot of fun! There was hot chocolate, Christmas carols and familiar faces! Oh yeah, and SANTA Came! The best part of the night was when we were counting down to the tree coming on and we hit ONE and nothing happened. ... for like three minutes. It made us all laugh pretty hard. The tree eventually DID light up, but it took a minute...
No offense to little ole Des Moines and it's tree.... but this one is my favorite! I walk by it with hot coffee and loud Christmas tunes to ring in every year! It's wonderful!
