Colleen Maxine Nielsen

This is my Grandmother the year she graduated from High School - 1948. She was such a beautiful young lady, and each picture we find the more the grandchildren fall in love, and wish so much she was still hear to sit beside us and tell us about her life. We celebrated her today. She was a well loved woman. 1 of 15 children as we found in her obituary , only one of her siblings is still here. We started the day off at the church for her funeral, and we heard stories of her life, and listened to special music, and then out to the cemetery to bury her next to my Grandpa who passed away 22 years ago.The grandsons were her paul bearers and they looked so handsome and proud to carry Grandma.  After the ceremony at the grave site, us kids went over to Mom and took her some flowers from Grandma's bouquet. We stood with some other relatives and shared stories about the ones we've lost. I really hate to come to hang out with my family like this, but I've learned so much about my f

Oly Rollers VS: Minnesota Rollergirls

Before I head out to South Dakota for Nani's funeral, I wanted to post the shots I got from the Oly, Minnesota bout this last weekend. I met up with Megan & Eric after shooting a wedding in Ocean shores , talk about a busy day! I was happy to meet up with my favorite Derby Wife and my actual Husband that day! What a fun bout to watch! That's On Da Sligh... and she's without a doubt one of the best skaters I've ever seen. She's fast, light footed, and smart. I could watch her skate all day long. This is often what our view looked like, a bunch of confused rollergirls while On Da Sligh just moved right through them! And I love this shot, mostly because of the very pregnant Tannabal Lector hanging over the bumper pads screaming at her teammates... most of the game she looked like this, and at some point she got so angry she grabbed that bumper and slammed it on the ground a couple times... Oh Tanna I love your intensity for Roller Derby!

Heaven's Newest Angel, Grandma Nani

Nani was welcomed home by Mom, Grandpa Papa, Kevin and Kerry last night. She was surrounded by her loved ones, and we will remember and celebrate her (probably) Friday morning. After years of collecting angels, she's become one herself. We'll miss you Grandma Nani!

King Felix's Supreme Court!

What a turn out for Felix's next showing after his Perfect game!  Instead of the smaller "Kings Court" for his first game back they did "Supreme Court" and gave 34,000 yellow tee shirts out and "K" cards.  It was probably the most amazing baseball game I've ever been to - I've never seen a stadium so full of ONE COLOR in my life! AMAZING! We also won - so Go Mariners! Felix Warming up! More of Felix warming up :) "Kings Court" is normally just under that sign... Felix walked out onto the field and the yellow machine went CRAZY! They even put a yellow shirt on Dave! We had to leave a little early... I was SO sleepy! What a night!

Stolen Photos!

Every year I wait for Julie to post pictures of the boys headed to school so I can steal them and share them with you! I think it's so fun to see how much they grow year to year to year!  This year Carter's been rocking the purple ribbon for his rabbits (and his goat) at 4H all summer, so I had to post this one too because I'm SO proud of him!  Troy is headed to 2nd grade, Carter to 5th and Kyle to Pre-Kindergarden!  I can't believe he's big enough to ride the bus!   I'm sure they don't think it's super awesome - but I love this picture and I am really excited for their awesome year of school. And soon, you'll get to see pictures of Erica on her first day too... so long as they come through with a picture for me to steal!

Tim's Birthday!

Every year we all go out for Tim's birthday - On August 18th we often find ourselves at Hooters eating hot wings, but since Hooters on South Lake Union closed its doors, we decided to go to a Mariner's game instead! I didn't get a picture of the 4 of us, but the ones I did get are pretty cute... and I LOVE my new camera, not that I really had to mention that!  We're headed to the game Tuesday again - I'll likely post pictures from that night too because the stadium should be coated in Yellow for King Felix's return since his Perfect game! So SO excited!
