My dog Got FIXED!

And all together now... "Was he broken?" Well not exactly... But it was his time to get neutered! He was starting to Lick the Cat... as you can see... She doesn't enjoy that. Eric took him to the vet in the morning and then picked him up last night around 4. Then he had to go BACK to Pet Smart to get a Elizabethan collar so Aquaman couldn't lick himself. On his way back home from that excursion he was in an accident. Elizabethan Collar for Dogs! (It's inflateable!) He's okay. Not to worry He's doing well. Our car got banged up but life is still good. Basically a man was going too fast in the rain and slid and ran into his drivers side door. So when he finally got home after filing out police reports etc. him and Aquaman sat on the couch and had a bit of a pity party together. Pity Party Table for 2! Hope you have a good and SAFE weekend! ♥ Abby PS: After much negotiation with my husband we've decided that I get to decorate for Halloween this weeken...

The Great Cookie Bake Of 08

Hello from my Kitchen! It was a great cookie bake, but I'm pretty sure before 2008 is finished I will have baked mass quantities of cookies greater than this. However, The Chocolate - Chocolate Frosted cookies are nothing to joke about! I got this recipie from my Grandma Myla (the greatest baker alive). She wrote a 2nd helping of her cook book just so us grand kids could have a copy - it brings be back home across 1300 miles just to open it. Here I am with my 2nd helping! It was always a favorite as a child; the first day after I moved to Seattle that I got home sick I baked a batch to make myself feel better and that's when Eric got hooked. Here's a couple pictures of my amazing baking skills, enjoy! Love - Abby

Family Time!

This weekend I am happy to report, was filled with family time! Eric, Aquaman, Gracie and me spent a lot of time doing what we all do best; being lazy! (as you can see they still get along as well as ever but at least they play together now) It has been a busy fall so far and things have been whizzing right by us! It’s hard to believe that we’re already at the 15th of the month! Of course this is good news for us fall loving people! It means that the leaves are about to turn and the pumpkins are becoming more prevalent. On Friday night Eric & I went out to eat at our favorite restaurant; Claim Jumper – where the portions are larger than your head! We had a night of watching Batman and enjoying the wonderfulness of a Friday! Saturday we were out of bed by 10 (which can be called a small miracle) and off to the Santo residents for an “Advisor Interest BBQ” it was great to see our good friends again and feel the turn of the year. We then went to Fred Meyer (for you non Pacific North w...

Where were you when the world stopped turning?

In an attempt to be good at this whole “blogging” thing, I wanted to do a quick note about September 11th to commemorate the day. 7 years ago America wept and we are still all weeping today. I know that every single one of you can say “I remember what I was doing when the twin towers fell” or as Alan Jackson sang “where were you when the world stopped turning, that September day?” Well, my story starts back in High school (EEK I was in my senior year 7 years ago! I’m getting old). I was in Mr. Zubke’s class “Career Readiness” dressed as a lame superhero. I should explain this outfit, it was pretty special, and I had on my brother’s Superman Tee shirt, a pair of Superman boxer shorts, and a red white and blue stripped bed sheet as a cape. Even more importantly it was “Ki-Yi” week, which for those of you who grew up around Watertown “Ki-Yi” was our homecoming tradition. We were listening to Mr.Zubke go on and on about how we needed to sell more carabineers to make more money for our clas...

Fall is Upon us!

Okay - So, I'm pretty new to this blog thing, and It's kind of fun! I hope that you enjoy reading it more than I enjoy posting it. If so, we're both in good shape! I have yet to tell Eric all about the wonderfulness of "our" blog, because last night we had Tim over for Monday night football and I barley saw Eric! It dawned on me that fall is in full swing with the coming of Monday night football and the Vikings blowing it (as usual). It feels so good to wake up and breath the crisp fall air! We don't get the fall colors out here as we did in the midwest but I sure do enjoy the weather! I have brought my own fall leaves into work to decorate my desk, it helps! Eric is still reluctant to "fall" into the season (excuse the pun). I bought him a pumpkin cookie yesterday in hopes that it would bring him around to let me put up my fall leaves at home, no avail, but I'll keep you posted! I hope all is well with you and yours, Enjoy the photo kind of a ...

Oh to be in 7th Grade again...

Eric & I took a trip over to Blake Island on the Graceful Spirit owned by Al & Sally Vrasper! They graciously let the 7th grade class of GLC go for an overnight retreat. We had a ton of fun! After arriving at the Island we unpacked, played a few games, had a campfire and then laied out our sleeping bags under the stars and fell asleep to the waves crashing on the shore. It was amazing to be out in nature. it's not an expierence one gets much when you live in an urban area. I kind of had forgotten how beautiful and vast the starry skies are. The city lights definatley drown the stars out at night. We woke the next morning to a loud group of boys and girls at 6am! We had breakfast, went for a hike and had worship! Then we ate lunch, loaded on the boat and headed back to Des Moines Marina to meet up with parents and relax a bit. The next morning I was sunburnt, achy and whiny. But we survived!

1st Blog

Hey guys! I have seen quite a friends of mine with Blogs so I thought, hey, let's try this out! I am not very good at keeping up with E-mail or even Facebook so again this Blog might only last a few weeks or months at it's best, but We're going to see what we can do. I hope that this Blog finds you well. Eric & I are keeping busy with our new little Aquaman. He's going in for the big Fix here in a few weeks, and then I'll be busy posting super funny pictures of him fighting the satellite dish! We just got home from an amazing trip with the 7th grade Grace Lutheran Class to Blake Island / Tillicum Village I will be sure to post a few pictures of it when I get home. Peace and Love for now!
