A Quiet Weekend at Home.

What a rainy, fogy dreary Seattle day! Isn’t it beautiful?I always feel so contemplative in the rain, perhaps that’s why I love Seattle so much. It completely suits my moods almost 100% of the time.

I had to rewrite my lame blog from this weekend – I always do better work when I’m concentrating on what I’m writing as opposed to reading recipes, watching TV and getting Aquaman to stop attacking my hands while I type.
Friday night Eric & I went out to eat at Claim Jumper and ran some errands in South Center including picking up Aquaman’s most amazing Halloween costume – Spiderman! Then we went home to watch Fright Night!
We had a really quiet weekend nothing HUGE to report. It was nice to be home with Eric, Aquaman & Gracie. On Saturday morning Aquaman was running circles on our bed so I got up and took him outside for a nice little walk around the park.
I got home and started making Halloween sugar cookie cut outs. After setting off the Fire alarm & waking up Eric in the process I only got 8 cookies out of my whole batch. Betty Crocker would be very ashamed!
My good Friend Laurel stopped by to visit and she brought me a wonderful little watch from her trip to Paris. It was good to have her over and talk a bit about her trip & school.
Eric & I went to the grocery store and bought things to make Pulled Pork Quesadilla’s & Pinto Beans. They were absolutely gourmet! I was very proud of Husband’s ambitions to make such a wonderful meal!
On Sunday I went out to Coffee with Katherine and then we watched football, I got a little scrapbooking in and then ran with Katherine in the evening to Fred Meyer.

It was a quiet but restful weekend much needed. How was your weekend?
Until Next time ♥ abby

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
