Vacation 101

So – a lot of you have been asking me “are you coming home this year?” That’s such a great question, and since you’re my loving family and friends I would like to share with you our plans for 2009 vacation (s).

I have 2 gracious weeks of vacation time and 1 week personal time that I am allowed to spend in the span of the 2009 year. Holidays this year are out of the question because I am taking 2 days off for Christmas this year and we like to rotate holidays so the same people don’t have to work every year, so next year Christmas Eve and the day after Thanksgiving are going to be spent here smiling behind my big desk!

So here... we... GO-

Eric & I would like to take a trip that we call our "adventure" for the year. Which usually includes going to a couple state's we've never been to and being tourists. This year we're contemplating between Cleveland; Ohio, Chicago; Illinois & New York; New York. Naturally there will be ballparks involved and quite a few tourist traps that We love. We plan to spend about a week worth of vacation on this trip. Where do you think we should go?

I forgot to announce perhaps the best news that’s come my way in months!

MY BEST FRIEND HAS SET A DATE!!!

Heidi & Hermann will be getting married on September 26th 2009!
I will defiantly be flying back for the wedding and LOVING every minute of it! The trip may be short and I don’t think I can make it into Tour Nebraska & South Dakota like I usually do when I come home, but it will be nice to see all the wedding attendee’s and perhaps my family if they drive down to see me while I’m closer. It’s a weird time at work so I can’t really take the week like I initially wanted to. But I am SUPER excited for it!

I have also heard “THE CALL FROM GOD” aka: I am working on a mission team this summer. It’s a short weekend mission over to Yakima with our 9th grade class whom are absolutely Phenomenal in every aspect. I am looking forward to serving in that way

The "rest" of my vacation time I'd like to use in "flex"... I.E. if you want to come visit, PLEASE let me know! I would love to be a tour guide but most of all love to see any and all of you!

So thus is my vacation situation... Questions?

Also --- > The Poll Has been posted... Please vote for our vacation options ... Just currious what you all think!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
