Happy Hump Day!

Hey guys! Sorry my blogs have been kind of “Debbie Downers” lately. It’s just been weird losing Eric Tennis and Tuba Man all within a week of each other! I can’t help but to pay a tribute to two men who have had a huge impact on the way I view life. I am a very lucky girl and GOD has dealt me a pretty fair hand.
On the bright side of the world - it’s raining here today again! I know I’ve got to be the most insane Seattleite you’ve ever met but I really do appreciate every drop of moisture we receive. It’s weird to think this time of year I’m used to scraping windows and starting my car for work. I don’t even drive to work anymore! I commute by bus 5 days a week and wow! Can I tell you not having to drive in this kind of traffic does wonders for my stress level?
As for the new name of the Blog? I’m trying things out. I should have done what I did with my Photo blog, wait until I found a really great name for it or at least a name I liked to start it. So It was “The Ronnebecks” and that was boring (though I may go back to it), then it moved to Seattle 101 (STUPID) and now it’s at Seattlelites which is a term used for those of us who live in Seattle (duh). So we’ll see how long it “Sticks to the wall”. I was thinking of moving it to “Liquid Sunshine” (LAME). Let me know what you think.
On the funny side of things – I heard someone say that Barack Obama is building an Army to destroy Christianity today. Wow. I’m not even really sure what to say to someone actually believing that. I mean, I understand if you don’t like the man, but really? Building an Army? To destroy America’s #1 religion? Yeah right! I hope you find humor in that as well.
I hope you’re having a wonderful day! Happy Trails :)
♥ Abby

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
