Monday Mornin....

Wow! What a lazy weekend we had! I know it seems weird but my sister called me this morning and said “what did you do this weekend” and I told her “I know it sounds odd but we were busy I’m just not sure what we did”.
Friday night Eric and I went to Federal way and spent some time running errands and went out to eat at Herfey’s (which is a complete and udder grease ball of a restaurant) but it tasted good!
Then we went to Target where I purchased the best Pajama’s in the entire world! (See photo). I am SO ready for Christmas morning with these jams, but actually they’re just super comfy.

I took some time Saturday afternoon to bake some Chocolate Chocolate-frosted cookies and Eric and I were both pretty astonished to see how quickly they disappear from the cookie jar.
Saturday evening Eric went to All Freak’n Night in Olympia which is a movie marathon of really old horror flicks that his friend Ivan is involved with. I stayed home because my talents do not include staying awake from 12 (midnight) to 9 am watching movies. Aquaman, Gracie and I had some quality bonding time. Pets are funny creatures. Aquaman kept jumping up and running to the door and growling, I would walk out to the front door to check things out and nothing would be there. I guess he’s just being my lil’ guard dog while Eric wasn’t home. I thought it was funny because I’m pretty sure he couldn’t protect me from a mouse. He also spent a lot of time chasing Gracie in circles which is one of his favorite things to do. At one point Gracie came screaming in the room with a reusable grocery bag around her neck and Aquaman at her tail. I imagine she was playing in the bag when he scared her and she just took off running. I found it quite humorous.
I went gallivanting with Katherine Sunday morning while Eric was catching up on his sleep and found some mint M&M’s which I’m happy to report are in the stores; After that I took Aquaman for a walk, the field where we walk was still wet from the dew and he was pretty wet & dirty when we returned home so he got an unwelcome bath. (He hates tubby time).
After we got all clean and dry I got some scrapbooking done and Eric did some organizing as well. All in all it was a fantastic weekend I hope you all had a fantastic weekend as well ♥ Abby!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
