Aquaman's Day at the Park ...

After eating breakfast at Jacks with Christina and Katie We decided to take Aquaman out for a walk. t was a nice day here in Des Moines, 41 degrees, a bit cloudy but all in all beautiful! We decided to take Aquaman outside for a game of fetch in the park (instead of just a walk) to which i decided was a good chance for me to try out my 75-300 mm lens. So here it is ... our day in the park with Aquaman at Des Moines Elementary.
Eric putting the harness on Aquaman. He is so furry right now this is the only thing that helps get all that hair out of his face, but it's only for a breif moment - at this point he usually gets way too excited that he's getting to go for a walk!

Eric & I found these baby toys at Target last night for pretty cheap so I decided to take it out to play fetch with him. He's pretty stellar at that whole fetch thing as long as the thing he's fetching has a rattle or a squeeker of some sort in it.
I now have a couple pictures of him running and I've realized that when he's running he opens his mouth funny like he's barking but I assure you he's not.
This is just a nice photo of him looking around in the park, sometimes he just stops what he's doing to check out what's going on around him.
Eric has so much fun playing fetch with him. Aquaman listens... most of the time.

I asked Eric to pick him up so I could get a nice shot of them standing infront of our apartment.

The park was pretty wet... and muddy, so when we got home... it was bath time. I had Eric pick him up so I could get a shot of his pathetic muddiness.

And then we stuck him in the bathtub. He HATES the Soggy Doggy but he doesn't mind the bath tub at home.

Then Eric dried him off so he wouldn't be too chilly.

And Aquaman waited patiently on the Luv Sac for Eric to finish cleaning up the bath tub so He could get a treat. His favorite... Rawhides!

Eric gave him a treat. Then we had one happy puppy and it only took him about an hour to devour his candy cane shaped rawhide and then he started to look for another one. Santa brought him these Candy cane rawhides and he still hasn't finished them all!
We had such a wonderful day in the park and now he's sound asleep on the floor next to me as I type. Soon we will be heading in to town to get some groceries. Oh how I love my Saturday's.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
