Hair Cut

BEFORE my hair appointment... (trust me you can't really see all the roots in this pic)

Victoria my hair dresser works miracles. I always walk out of there loving what she's done with the pile of hair I present her with which usually includes split ends and roots.
I have gone blonde pretty much since I started dying my hair, so to mix it up I went with less blonde and more natural color, it's been ages since I've seen my natural color. As a blonde I do have more fun but as a brunette I feel a little more sophisticated.
As my three favorite college girls (Heidi, Liz and Andrea) can tell you, they fought to get me in something other than a tee shirt, jeans and tennis shoes when we went out for the evening. I can say now that I'm becoming one of "them". In this photo alone (see below) I'm sporting three things you would have never seen me wear in College, A necklace (other than my christian fish), a solid colored shirt that's dressier than a tee shirt 3/4 length sleeves, and a scarf (GASP) Yes, a scarf, something until a couple months ago I didn't even consider an accessory but a necessity of survival in the bitter cold South Dakota winters.
I am dressing like a real grown up now, and It's not that I don't love my tee shirts and jeans, it's just that I feel good looking like this... oh yeah and work requires me to look like an adult...
oh the pain of growing up...
I think I'll go put on my tee shirt and jammie pants now...
have a good evening :)

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
