Happies...

In the midst of being sick I've gone into the "feeling sorry for myself" slippery slope I think most of us face when we're sick. So it's been a while and what might help me feel better is posting things I'm happy about or grateful for. Sometimes It's all about remembering the little things.

- I have gotten my fair share of 'What not to wear' in the past two days and am feeling more inspired to dress better (this show does this to me).

- Aquaman has been super snuggly the past couple days. He's fallen asleep on my lap more than once in the past couple days and that makes me smile.

- Eric has been taking care of me. He's such a good husband - I am so blessed.

- Mom has been on vacation and she's been texting me love. It makes me smile that my mom can text!

- I get to go to work tomorrow. I am really REALLY looking forward to getting back to my normal schedule.

- It rained yesterday (a lot) and I love the rain, and after the storm we got a beautiful Rainbow!

- Our landlord is letting us paint and I'm getting excited that we get to paint and re-org our place, long over due!

- The weekend is just around the corner. I heart the weekend!

- My niece has been writing me letters latley and they make me smile bigger than life.

- Giving up Facebook for lent has been easier than I anticipated.

Hope this finds you all well.
Miss you :)

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
