Monday Monday... So good to me...

It’s so hard to believe its Monday already. I feel like I slept my Saturday away – probably because I did. I wanted to post an installment of Happies, because it’s been a little while since I did one. But first I want to state a few BOO’s that I had this week (end).

BOOS…
-The senior high boys who thought I was a target for Whirly ball, my back and neck haven’t hurt this bad in a long time.

-My decision to wear heels all the way down to Borders on my lunch hour. What was I thinking? Now my feet hurt too!

Happies…
-I pulled a prank on my co-worker Alex by changing the wallpaper on his computer unexpectedly to Sarah Palin on the cover of Vogue (to see image go to http://www.google.com/ and type in Sarah Palin and look at Images, it’s the first one). It was hilarious.
-Eric and I watched 2 movies this weekend and I think “Role Models” has made its way to my top 10 most favorite comedies. It was pretty cute.
-I finally got my Sister, Shannon’s birthday gift in the mail only 11 days late!
-Erica’s birthday gift didn’t break in the mail – Eric and I got her an old fashioned gum ball machine.
-Joe and Heather Had their baby and he’s happy and healthy (see previous post)
-I had a nice text conversation with my cousin Angie – she’s expecting any day now – and will induce Wednesday.
-I have successfully gone through 3 bottles of Purell in less than 2 months at work. It’s cold season!
-Looking forward to giving my blogs a fun spring facelift! I like to keep with the seasons!

-We're getting our taxes done today ... Hooray!

- My lil cousin Alex (who's a Jr. in high school) Set a state record for South Dakota by scoring 40 points in a State basket ball game they won the game 60-41. They went on to take the State title as Champs for the first time in Summit History. Way to go lil cuz.

Happy Monday to all!

Abby- I love to read your Blog! I hope that you and the pets are doing well. Could you blog about your experience with the bus system? I know you’ve mentioned you ride it but I’m interested in knowing more about the bus, I have never had to take it before and I think it's kind of interesting.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
