Reasons why I don't miss being in Junior High

After this weekend, I realized how much I don't miss being a Junior High kid. Don't get me wrong, I love Junior High Kids, I love them so much I advise them at church but never intend to have one of my own.

So I started thinking about the days when I was in Junior High, and thought of reasons why I don't miss being in Junior High from what I've observed this past weekend

Because...

... Life's happiness was too dependant on my BFF's.

... Screaming was the only way I knew how to express my happiness.

... I was so awkward.

... Boys still had cooties.

... I was never able to let my hair down and play.

... I was always worried about what other people thought

... Mt.Dew and Laffy Taffy was a "balanced diet" for me.

... My feet were too big for my body

... I wasn't sure if I wanted to be a big kid or a little kid.

... I had just moved from a small school and was a small fish in a big pond.

... I played sports in that big pond that I found out I wasn't so good at afterall.

What were you like in Junior High? Do you miss it?

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...

Merry Craftmas!!

When I was little Mom had one of these to put out every Christmas. I remember her tossing it out having fixed its hot glue after every warm summer in the shed, she wasn't particularly attached to it but I was. Having collected enough baby food jars (finally) I put it together this weekend! Looks just like I remember it and now it is sitting in my closet awaiting its debut next weekend!
