LLMK!

Last night before Eric and I left for Ivan and Dawn’s house I sat down at my computer and checked my Facebook.
I got an invite to be part of the “Live Like Marty Kranz” Group. It brought tears to my eyes as I followed the link to a new website www.livelikemartykranz.com.
As you may remember Marty was a classmate of mine from High school whose untimely death affected a lot of lives, and mine in a way I didn’t really expect.
Marty was an exceptional guy who would go out of his way to do anything for you, he was a 3 sport athlete in high school and still had amazing grades. He went on to play football for SDSU and married his Junior & Senior High school sweetheart Stefanie Petersen just a few short weeks after Eric and I tied the knot.
Marty was taken from us in a farming accident and shook our worlds.
I want to promote his website and scholarship program that his family and friends have set up in honor of him. www.livelikemartykranz.com they’re fundraising to have a decent amount of money to give to their scholarship recipient that embodies the same heart that Marty had.
Please visit their website! If you have a few dollars, help them out.
It is so little to honor a guy who meant so much to so many.
The world would be a much better place if more people were like Marty.
Thanks for your time guys. I appreciate it.

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
