Monday Moanin!

I'm starting to think that my Monday Madness / Rambling could become a weekly thing. I feel like "reporting in" after a long weekend of whatever it is we do for the weekend.

This weekend we ran some errands in South Center, had our bout of spring cleaning and mucho company!

Saturday Eric took on his CD piles and we still have a few lingering in our house somewhere. I have to admit, mine aren't exactly "put away" either. We worked on sorting and tossing things we didn't really listen to any more. I came to find out that Heidi and I made way WAY too many "Heidi and Abby" Cd's in College but they're way fun! Later in the afternoon Tacy stopped over as she was down in our area and Tacy and I definetly concluded that this meant she had to come play some board games! We played "Crazy Cat lady" and "Kill Dr.Lucky" till about 11:45 which is waaay WAAAY Past our bed times. It was a great evening to laugh and be with friends, Aquaman was sad to see Tacy go, as her lotion is his new favorite thing to lick!

Sunday afternoon we woke up and I worked on picking up the house as Eric went to the church and picked up 6 wiggling, giggling 9th grade boys to come over and play in the park and on the Wii. Jacob, Joel, Jimmy, Derek, Matt, and Kyle were a joy to have around, but I never really realized the VOLUME 6 - 9th grade boys have! It was fun! I stayed in my room for the most part, keeping the pets out of the way and caught up on some much needed scrap booking. It was a good night.

I hope you all had a great weekend!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
