Opening Day!!!

Last night Eric and I watched the Mets take on the Padre’s in the Met’s new home Citi Field. And if you haven’t Googled the beauty that is Citi Field I highly recommend it! What a beautiful Ballpark! I can imagine that in the next couple year, if not next year we’ll be flying to New York to see BOTH (count them) of their new ballparks.

Today’s Opening day in Seattle! I’m so excited to have the Mariner’s back in town! It’s been great watching Baseball on TV but I am over watching everyone else having fun at the ballpark I’m ready to embark on a new season to Safe Co Field!

I am ready to hug the Moose, no matter how scary he seems, I’m ready to pay my tribute to the beloved Tuba Man, Eat hot dogs that are tasteless and overpriced, and cheer on one of the last place teams (from last year). Mmmh I love baseball.

So, as a grand tribute to all that is Safe Co Field… a few pictures that I had frosty in my picture gallery to share with you. I’m sad that I’m missing the picture of the first game Eric and I went to.

Baseball Ahoy!

Mariner Moose, & Us 2nd game of the year, Last year.

Our First Summer together - Lots of Baseball ness. This is by the "Glove" by the Left Field Gates.

A view from some decent seats we purchased.

and a sunset from the nosebleed's.

Welcome to Safe Co Field indeed!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
