Hello world…

What a busy weekend it was! Friday night Eric and I went to a Mariner’s game and watched them lose to the Twins. However it’s the only game they lost to the Twins this weekend so I guess we just had bad timing. At the game we got to hang out a bit with our good friends Reiner & Teresa, we ran into Ryan (a pastor of our church) and ran into an old youth intern; Bryant. It was amazing how many people we knew there. There were two other couples I knew were there, but we never crossed paths. During the game Elvis-Moose was in our section, and the kid next to us got on the Jumbo screen for dancing chaotically. He was pretty determinate to get on the screen – Eric was soaking up all his dance moves! The boys mom would move over closer to Eric and I to “give her boy some dancin’ room!”. What a great night!

Saturday we had a few grad parties to attend. We went down to Federal Way for Nathan’s and then ran a few errands, then to Jason & Rachel’s. It was a long day. Grad parties take some time!

Sunday we went to church – it was Senior Sunday! All of the Graduate’s were there in their Cap and Gown and they delivered the Sermon! It’s always so fun to see them.
After church I went to Mary’s Baby shower at Kristin’s house and we had lunch and played a few baby shower-esque games; one game we played was to cut pictures out of a magazine and tape together what we thought Baby P would look like. Those were some crazy looking babies! After the shower, Eric picked me up and we went to Andrew’s grad party. That was our last one of the weekend but look forward to 4 or 5 more next weekend!

Needless to say I’m exhausted! I didn’t get much rest this weekend like I had planned! Oh well, it was worth it.

Hope you all have a lovely Monday!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
