Hello World!

Okay… So I’ve really been a slacker this week, and I sort of apologize. I have been a busy bee getting Eric ready for Mexico, everything that’s going on with Mom and just trying to enjoy summer. So, with that… I actually started another blog, because yes I have THAT much to say about life… Just kidding.

I started a blog for my Mom this week. It’s officially been “Launched” to my family and friends and hopefully people will actually read that one! Either way, I’m really excited about it, and I think it’s a good therapy tool for all parties involved. Let me know if you’d like to “guest post” on that blog.

So, despite all the C-word talk that’s been going on, I wanted to post some happies, because despite bad things in life, life is still good.

-I am happy that the 4th of July is getting closer and closer, It’s the best holiday all summer…:o)
-I have been listening to 50’s music all morning and I can’t tell you how it improves my mood, but I swear it does!
-I finally got new Specs, and the funny thing? Only 2 people have noticed, so they either look really good/ natural… or…
-I got Mom’s new blog up and running… I’m very excited about it.
-Eric is getting excited to go to Mexico… I’m glad he’s excited
-I get to watch 2 (count em) episodes of True Blood tonight… I’m kind of addicted.
- I got 3 pages scrapbooked on Tuesday night – from Lazy F.

So there yah go… sorry it took all week, I think I have pictures to post around here somewhere… I’ll look into it !
All my Love,
Abby

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
