Monday Moanin

I always seem to moan and groan on a Monday ... so I find it fitting that I always want to title my Monday posts with "Monday Moanin'".

Eric and I had a great weekend, it went really fast and I don't feel like I hardly saw him! This weekend was full of Dog sitting, errand running and friends!

Ivan and Dawn came over yesterday eve and Dawn and I grocery shopped while the boys stayed at home with the dog. They remind me what it's like to have a great time with reliable friends.

Eric was a Special Olympics all day Saturday and loved every minute of it, Katherine and I ran around and played Saturday eve. It was great to hang out with her and conquer Ikea & Fred Meyer!

I'm exhausted this morning, I didn't sleep well. The heat is already getting to me and the fan's aren't helping as much as I'd like them to. Bring on the rain!

On the plus side, I got a new pair of Teva Sandals this weekend that I'm in L♥VE with! I can't wait to wear them - wish they were "work appropriate".

I also have my brain whirling for when Eric's gone in Mexico of all these fun projects I'd like to accomplish! I hope my energy for it now, keeps through the end of the month!

This month looks promising for a lot of social parties ... grad parties, baby showers, etc. Looking forward to seeing lots of people and sending the Mexico kids off with a LOT of prayers!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...

Merry Craftmas!!

When I was little Mom had one of these to put out every Christmas. I remember her tossing it out having fixed its hot glue after every warm summer in the shed, she wasn't particularly attached to it but I was. Having collected enough baby food jars (finally) I put it together this weekend! Looks just like I remember it and now it is sitting in my closet awaiting its debut next weekend!
