Lazy Saturdays

What a day... We started out by bumming around the house. I really didn't want to go anywhere, and was kind of having a "I want to eat worms" kind of day. Eric finally convinced me to go out for a little while, and I'm really glad he did.
We started out at the Starbucks down the street - we drove down to Salt Water State park, and then down Redondo boardwalk and then ended up on 320th in Federal Way somehow. We then hit the freeway and ended up back at the Kent/Des Moines freeway and Eric suggested that we take Aquaman to the Dog Park. So we ended up letting him run free at Grandview Dog Park and he got played with a little rough by a few dogs, so we decided it was time for us to go.
The park was beautiful though, a great view of Kent valley and Mt. Rainier. At the dog park we could smell the ripened black berry's. We couldn't reach them because they were beyond the fence line; I suggested that we stop at the blackberry bush before we head upstairs that's just in the back alley beside our house.
Look at our loot!
We picked berries for about 45 minutes and we crafted a berry basket out of one of Aquamans unused poop bags.
Since I was having a frumptastic day, Eric took some pictures of me to make me feel a little better about myself. I'm pretty happy with them so I thought I'd share a few here.

Have I mentioned how amazing this guy is? He always knows how to turn my frown upsidedown.
I'm actually really sad we decided not to drive up to Ivan & Dawns today. I Just wasn't feeling myself, and I didn't want to inflict that on our friends.
We picked the berries and the thorns picked us back... They hurt!

But in the end it was a beautiful, sunny day and I should have never let my frown get turned upside down in the first place.
I had a great day with my boys, and I hope you had a lovely Saturday Too!
All of our Love,
Abby, Eric & Aquaman
Gracie sends her best :)

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
