Tracy with a Y not an IE.

I haven't regaled you with tales live from Metro transit recently because nothing blogable has happened in a while.

Today, I met Tracy. He told me that it was a Y not an IE because he did not want me to confuse him with a girl that may spell it with an IE.

Tracy is a mentally handicapped 56 year old man who rides the bus everyday (so he tells me) but today he sat next to me.

He sat down and said "boy you are a pretty girl, your husband must be very happy with you. Can I be your friend? I like to meet friends."

How could you say no to that?

Tracy sat next to me from Seattle to just outside of Des Moines. We had a great talk and as people passed to get off the bus he wished each one of them a great weekend. Before his stop he asked me if it would be okay if he prayed for me when he went to church on Sunday.

Then he pulled the stop chord gave me a nice pat on the back and told me to have a good weekend.

God put Tracy with a Y here today to make me smile... Thank you God for Tracy!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
