Seahawk Sunday!

The Seahawks play their first regular season game today, which means that it's nothing but Seahawk Blue and lime green in this house.
I took the liberty to torture Gracie by making her wear Aquaman's back up Seahawks bandanna. She is currently hiding in her condo pissed off at me for the notion.

I don't know what she's more mad about, the fact that I made her wear one, or the fact that it is *GASP* The DOG's!!!
Thought I'd post some Seahawk goodness on my page today for the event, I dug out some old pictures of us at past games.
I must give out my congratulations to the Vikings for the big W against the Browns. I guess Favre is doing some good!

We've had a really quiet weekend, Friday Lee was over so I spent a lot of time on Facebok chatting with my sister, it was fun!
Saturday we ran some errands, as we're pet sitting for two of our friends this weekend and then came home and watched "big Love" which is the tv series we can't get enough of latley, Bill Paxon & Ginnifer Goodwin - I'm hooked. I stayed up pretty late last night in hopes that I would wake up at a decent time and be super tired for tonight. We'll see how that works out for me, so far i feel too well rested.
Last night Heidi had her Bachelorette party. and today is her Shower, I so wish I could have been there but it sounds like they had a great time!
I can't wait to hear all the stories.
Hope this post finds you having a great weekend as well.
Go Hawks!!!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
