Welcome Christmas, Christmas Day

I have been slacking on posting recently, so I guess I'll make up for it with three posts in one day! Watch out world! Here's our Christmas day in a nutshell, with a few pictures, but mostly just random thoughts of a wonderful day.Aquaman opened his gift with help from me. It was a Snuggie... Check it out HERE.
The Gift that was most surprising and exciting... my Owly Hat! Seen freaking out about it ... HERE!!! Check out this link to see what/Who Owly is :).
As tradition goes, Eric and I love to go look at Christmas lights on Christmas Day Eve. Here's a house we frequent... Love the old timey Manger scene. Gracie was done with it all by the time we got back to Des Moines... Perhaps she doesn't love the back window like she used to.
After looking at Christmas lights, We came home and played with our gift from Santa, the Christmas Story Version of Monopoly... I was still smiling in this picture because Eric hadn't set up death row yet...
Death Row... Rolled a 6 and landed on "Ralphie's Soap" and Eric needed me to pay him $900 for landing on his space, and I was out of cash ... and he offered to have me mortgage my property, which I said "okay, then I'll keep landing on it, and keep paying you and ultimatley you'll win... let's just quit now".
A few other highlights, Eric's live crab, my tri tip kobe beef and our giant cheese and meat tray.
Watching Scrooged - Love Bill Murray
Sinking an hour or so into the Sims, building houses
Christmas is the Ronnebeck's most favorite day of the year... This year did not dissapoint.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
