Thoughts from Metro

One of my New Years resolutions (amongst many) was to not nap on the bus in the morning. Not only does napping make me sore from the positions I end up in trying to catch my Z's but I also am usually more tired when I get off the bus at the end of my ride. I have tried many tactics to keep my eyes open few have been successful, so today I try blogging from my cell phone. I hope the guy sleeping infront of me doesn't mind the key clicking noise.

My stress level has been reduced this week, a lot. I have had lots of help from people in accomplishing this, but mainly things are resolving themselves and that in its self has been a blessing.

Eric and I will be purchasing our new car (likely) next weekend. Happy Birthday to both of us!

I am working on my dental issues by getting a predetermination on getting my top wisdom teeth pulled. (YUCK - No offence Doc.).

I de-stress by doing things little kids love and I am serriously considering a 2nd career as a coloring book artist.

My job load has been lightened significantly, the new gal rocks, and soon work will be back to normal again.

This Monday is Eric's birthday! Don't forget!

Mariya and I have got everything booked for Vegas and couldn't be more excited for that!

Happy Days are here again!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
