The Busy Life of the Ronnebecks

I am pretty sure that my fasts for Lent are mocking me or at the very least tempting me at every corner I turn. 40 days really isn't that long to be away from Facebook but I got an e-mail today from Facebook telling me they've noticed it's been awhile since I've logged in and thought It would be helpful for me to know that I've got 8 new messages 181 photo tags, 5 new friend requests and 4 new friend suggestions. Thank you Facebook, that was helpful, now I want to check it more than I did prior to your lovely e-mail.
In other news, my dental appointment has been put off till Tuesday - so I have to wait till Tuesday for Doc to tell me that my teeth look like they're healing well, which I know because I haven't had any troubles with them at all. I even ate real food today... took a little longer to clean out my mouth, but the Teriyaki from Highline Teriyaki was SO worth it.
This weekend will be semi-busy, we've got plans with Ivan and Dawn on Friday and on Sunday we'll be attending The Satori Group's play Winky. I work with Alex who is part of the Satori Group so I love to give a little free advertising... if you're in Seattle go see a Satori Group production... they're pretty rad. You're welcome for the link guys :).
In more other news, we're starting to work on our vacation plans for the year and I can't be more excited to announce what we've decided.
In April (as you may know) my girlfriend Mariya and I will be headed to LAS VEGAS for a girls weekend, we've got tickets for LOVE by Cirque Du Soleli and plans to go see the Titanic exhibit and a very large soaking tub waiting for us at the Planet Hollywood hotel!
In June, Mom, Brenda and Kathy are flying out to participate in Relay for Life with me! If you would like to financially support our team please click here and make a donation! If you would like for us to light a luminiaria in honor or remembrance of a loved one who has battled cancer - let me know and click HERE for more information.
In August, we're taking a week off and headed to Big Sandy Tennessee to spend time with our two favorite southern ladies; Eric's Mom Kay and cousin Jackie. (Hi Momma Kay & Jackie- glad you've been checking in on us here!!! WE Love you VERY Much!!) We'll be spending time with them, and hopefully seeing some scenery around their new home; we'll also be making a day trip or so over to Atalanta to add a new ball park to our list, and maybe Montgomery too.
In September it's being discussed at work to send me to Washington DC for a conference, which Eric could also travel along - more on that when I learn more from work.
We'll also try to squeeze in a trip with Ivan and Dawn to Portland this year, and Mariya, Dawn and I hope to make a trip over to Forks to check out the Twilight Phenomenon.
So, that being said ... let me know if you'd be willing to camp out at our house any time during the above listed vacations and hang out with this little guy... He's a good boy, he just needs a friend to hang out with while we're gone... oh yeah and you'll need to feed him too!
Hope you have a great weekend...
Love, Abby

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
