A Slice of Life : The Best Friend Edition

To Jumpstart my bloggy goodness... A slice of life...
Outside my window... The busy city is in it's daily bustle ... traffic jams... and a whole lot of rain!
I am thinking... that my neck really needs to quit hurting... and how can I force myself to have good posture to make it better.
I am thankful for... my supportive husband who helped me out of an Anxiety Abby Meltdown last night.
From the kitchen... awaits my lunch packed by said husband... Turkey Kofte, Apple Riata with Spinach and a half of a pita.
I am wearing... a white pinstripe button down shirt, with black pants and heels. I'm in "Business Abby" mode today.
I am going... to work hard today, so I can get home and start work on weekend plans... We're going to the Emerald City Comi Con (ECCC) this weekend! (YAY!)
I am hoping... for short lines at the ECCC, but on a more serious note... I'm hoping for my Mom's PET scan results to come back clean and clear.
I am hearing... typing of my co-worker... he bangs on the keys... it's enduring

Around the house... Lots of bags and thing to be put away, I am waiting for that "SPRING CLEANING" urge to kick in.

A few plans for the rest of the week: A meeting at the Church tonight, a quiet night at home with my Husband on Friday... and Saturday is ECCC! and Sunday???

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
This lady who forwarded my fundraising e-mail out to the people she loves to help me raise more money... what a wonderful friend!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
