Spring has Sprung

Oh how I love spring in Seattle, I love it almost as much as winter, fall and summer... okay let's just say the weather here doesn't suck as long as you can stand a little rain now and again.
Last week Eric and I took Aquaman out for a walk and I brought my camera and was super excited to take pictures of the blooming flowers and of Aquaman out running. About halfway through our walk after I had been snapping pictures I realized that I had no CF Card in my camera. Awesome. So every picture I took was moot because it didn't save anywhere. So I waited for another sunny day and REMEMBERED my CF Card this time.

Not sure what these trees are even called, but I love the bright pink flowers the produce. Look at the blue in the sky! I didn't even enhance the color on these at all.

And the Yellow one... I love yellow.

And the Aquaman run face... It makes me giggle. You can see how much fun he's having.

Looks like he's saying WOOF! But really he's just ecstatic to be running around in circles, but wishes the cat was outside so he could chase her - that's his favorite activity.
This weekend was busy. On our way home from Ivan and Dawns on Friday night, Eric asked me if I would be game to clean out the storage unit on Saturday. Let me give you a hint folks, if your husband is ever in the mood for cleaning out things and especially the storage unit weather or not you feel like it... the answer is YES. We took an entire load out to Goodwill and we tossed quite a bit of junk. We can now walk in the storage unit... which is a vast improvement.
It's been a good weekend... tonight we're off to WINKY by the Satori Group.

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
