LOVE - LOVE - LOVE

I don't know that I can even put into words how amazing LOVE was! Let me start with this, It's a Cirque Du Soleli Show and they do nothing half assed.
Mariya and I left our hotel around 5 and headed over to the Mirage which is where LOVE calls "home". We took a cab and the cab dropped us off at the back door of the Mirage where this LOVE sign was. I was so excited I made her stop to take lots of pictures I love this logo so much! Oh and did I mention we got all 'babed' out to go? We looked pretty good! I don't know what I was expecting from the show, but I know I wasn't expecting all the ambiance that was created from the moment you saw the entrance to the theater.
RETRO!!!!
All of the staff were dressed up like this - for the guys (and I never got a picture of the gals). The concession and gift shop workers all had retro shirts on as well! And the light up walk way was too exciting!
We stood in front of this for awhile trying to get it to change colors for pictures! I went into the boutique / gift shop area and bought myself a T-shirt, cup and program to the show. I bought the program because you can't take pictures inside the show.
And again... the banner welcoming you to the era of the Beatles!
The show was just over 80 minutes long and it was amazing from start to finish. This was a show I've wanted to see since I heard it came out in 2000. I never saw myself actually going to Vegas so once I sat down in the seat and the show started I literally cried tears of joy for being there. I have never been so moved by a show in my life. In the last songs of the show they did a little tribute to the Beatles, John & George - and the tears started again! After the show Mariya and I sat in the seats as everyone swarmed out of the theater in total shock of what we had just saw. It was indescribable.
After the show let out, and most of the people had disbursed Mariya and I got up and started our way out. I was picking up confetti that was shot out over the audience for my scrapbook and one of the usher gals let me go up to the stage and get confetti from all of the different acts. I was so excited to even touch the stage - and then I declared I could be a groupie - but Mariya reminded me I have a dog and a husband at home who would not be so excited about that idea.
Even after waiting 15 minutes to leave this is the crowd we encountered.
We left the Mirage just in time to cross the street to watch the Volcano do it's show - it was so hot we could feel the heat across the street it was pretty intense.

After the Volcano was done doing it's thing we walked down to the Venetian and were followed up the moving sidewalks by a 21 yr old in a scooter chair (he was not in need of) playing Highway to the danger zone and we laughed our way through the Venetian and ended up grabbing a plate of nachos and a soda while we digested all that was LOVE.

I can't remember if we grabbed a cab home or if we walked but needless to say I was in a haze from the show. We got back to the hotel and stayed up talking about the show, and life in general.

What a great trip!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
