Slice of Life : The Drought.

I'm thinking - How awful I've been at blogging recently. I guess I've hit a drought in all this heat that we've been having. It will come back. I know it will.

I'm thankful for - My Job. I have been so flipping busy this week (yes it's only Tuesday) and I have loved almost every moment of it - I'm also thankful for this 15 minute break which I'm using for blogging goodness.

From the Kitchen- Leftover heaven! We're having Chicken sandwiches tonight on leftover Brat buns, We're crafty like that.

I'm wearing- My "mail room clothes" and feeling yucky about it.

I'm Going- to go crazy ... seriously though... I'm going to get a move on my scrap booking, I'm really behind - first step? Printing pictures.

I'm Hoping- Mindy gets her new kitty this weekend. She's picked him out and is just waiting on some clearance from the vet(s).

I'm hearing- Oldies pumping from Pandora. I'm pretty sure my Pandora station went rogue because It's been playing crazy stuff all day.
I LOVE- that this week is going fast... I am so ready for the weekend!

I'm wondering- when I will get to Bo's to pick up more Cherries! (I'm an addict)

A few plans for the week- Call committee tomorrow night (YAY) and errands - who knows what else will come up?

A picture for a thought I'm sharing- I made this on my lunch hour today - funny what you can do with a little publisher and creativity. It's hanging out as my desktop back ground. I'm pretty proud of it.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
