Maris Farms!

Last night Eric and I went with a group of 75 Grace Lutheran Youth to Maris Farms in Buckley. It's a good 40 minute bus ride from the church and it's the most magical Halloween place in the world. Okay, well, maybe not the world, but it's pretty amazing for Washington, and I love our tradition of going to Maris Farms!
We normally go at night, with the youth, I'd love to return to get a pumpkin during the day or check out the corn maze when It's not pitch dark outside!
Last night we had 7-12 grade youth and we gave them a choice of either the Corn Maze or the Haunted Woods. I went with a group of boys through the Haunted Woods! I never pass up on an opportunity to go through the Haunted Woods! As soon as we arrived at the farm, there was a guy dressed up in a scary costume on stilts so he could reach right into the bus windows and scare the kids on the bus.
The Haunted Woods wasn't as spooky as it could have been going through it was 3 fearless boys and one weenie (just kidding Rodney, you did good). It would have been a different expierence with a group of girls, I'm sure.
It was a lot of fun, and I got good and scared a couple of times from random guys dressed up in costumes jumping infront of me and screaming! Overall Maris always does a fantastic job, from the moment you show up till the moment you leave!!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
