Just Believe

The Make-a-Wish foundation is an amazing organization that grants wishes to kids battling cancer and other serious illnesses. The most popular wish is a trip to Disneyland or Disneyworld! The Make-a-Wish people go above and beyond the call of duty to make even the wildest of wishes come true. Last year, a young Seattle boy made a wish to be a superhero and the Make-a-Wish foundation orchestrated an entire city to make his wish come true – click on the link to see the story, caution: it will make you melt.

Every year Macys hosts a mailbox to Santa for the Make-a-Wish Foundation. For every letter to Santa that gets placed in a Macys Santa Mailbox they donate $1 to the Make-a-Wish foundation, up to $1,000,000!!!! As you can probably tell, making wishes come true is sometimes costly, and the Make-a-Wish foundation needs that $1,000,000!

So, I’m rallying troops to get your buts to Macys and bring a letter to Santa! I walk by Macys nearly every day, if you e-mail me a letter to Santa (mrs{dot}Ronnebeck@live{dot}com), or write a comment on this post to Santa, I will print it off and take it down to Macys to get that $1 donated to the Make-a-Wish foundation.

Let’s make these kids’ wishes come true!!!!

I have provided a couple samples below from Gracie & Aquaman and myself, you know, to get those creative juices flowing.

Dear Santa Clause,
I have not been a very good cat, although I have tried; but let me justify my behavior by saying that I would be a perfect kitty if my owners would quit picking me up and loving on me, and taking away my food dish for half of the day.
All I want for Christmas is some peace and quiet, and a full food dish that stays on the floor for 24 hours.
Love,
Gracie Ronnebeck.

Dear Santa Clause,
I have been a good boy, because I love my owners.
All I want for Christmas is a lap with a fleece blanket to snuggle on, and a rawhide.
I would also love it if Mom and Dad would let me chase the cat so I don’t have to do it when they’re not looking; see what you can do about that one.
Love,
Aquaman Ronnebeck

Dear Santa,
I’ve been a good girl this year and all I really want for Christmas is a cure for Cancer, is that too much of me to ask? Oh yeah, and World Peace; stop me when you think I’m just being greedy.
Love, Abby

So, let’s start off this Christmas season right, and get those letters to Santa going!!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
