Welcome Christmas... Christmas Day!

We are a couple kids come Christmas Day. We wake up early, get some coffee, put on some music, and then spend the morning opening gifts.
We let Aquaman open his first this year to keep him occupied all morning.
We gave Gracie a nice piece of string, and she was so enthralled that she spent a lot of the morning being part of the family!
We normally start out by checking out our stocking loot. Santa was very good to both of us this year, and our snowmen were fat!
Then we open gifts, one by one, slowly enjoying every moment!
It gets rather messy, and I'm glad we kept Aquaman occupied. And yes, I got Taylor Swift AND Eclipse, and no, I'm not 16, I'm 26... just for the record.
Eric also got me this beautiful tea kettle. I love that you can see the reflection of the tree in the kettle.
I found this fun pop up book for Eric... It has all the DC Superhero's, it's pretty cool.
And I bet you're wondering what kind of present get's that kind of reaction...
The 70th anniversary edition of the Wizard of Oz... :)
Oh and my Owly Hat from last year got that reaction too... maybe I'm excitable!
Aquaman was very thankful for his treats...
And just like every kid... Gracie would have rather played with the packaging.
We had a wonderful Christmas Day. We're very blessed.
We spent our Christmas eve with our wonderful friends Ivan & Dawn... and Christmas Day together - we are so very blessed.
I miss my family today... a lot, but it's fun to be able to talk to them, wish them a Merry Christmas and say "See yah next week!"
This is my favorite person in the world to spend Christmas with... He's the best.
Merry Christmas....

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
