Mr. & Mrs. Jonathan Knight...

Oh my... I'm behind! Let's start BEFORE I left for South Dakota. December 30th 2010!
Laurel married the love of her life... Jon.

I was blessed with the opportunity to take their wedding photos - a first for me, and boy was I a wreck! So nervous!

I am completely pleased with how they turned out... and here are some of my favorites.
The Bride waiting for her Groom...
Her Bouquet... His Hat...
The First Look... Hands down ... Favorite shot of the day!
Her Bouquet...
The Bride and Groom listening to the Father do his thing...
An overview of the ceremony.
And the Father, who took over at the last minute... forgetting their last name during the presentation of the couple.
The sweet newlyweds arriving at their reception venue.
And I got one of the Bride's father (Bruce) Dancing with each of his three girls... Hope.
Laurel.
And the love of his life... Rose.
The Best man and Maid of Honor toasting the couple... "May the Force be with you"
All day long, Laurel kept telling me how wonderful it was to be surrounded by the people she loved most in the world for her wedding day. This photo exemplifies that for me. I love this shot so much.
The couple ordering a drink.
The best man and his cape and saber... wonderful!
The Delicious cake... thanks for the no berries lady!
And the best man handed over his saber to let them cut their cake, it was so perfect!
Congratulations to the new couple... Have a wonderful new year building your NEW HOUSE in Texas - we can't wait to come visit (some day)!

Not bad for my first "Professional" wedding.... :)

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
