I'm 27 ... and this is how I celebrate...

My Birthday Rocked.

It started out by Eric waking me (gently) at 2:20 am to sing me happy birthday and ask me if I could smell my cake baking. What a chef!

I went to work early, so I could stop and get some Starbucks!

I got to work, and a card from the entire office greeted me.

I stopped by Meg's desk and she gave me a Happy Birthday Balloon, Red Velvet cookies and a card.

Then, my co-worker Diane presented me with a Tulip plant, some chocolate and a card.

Then, Mindy showed up with two boxes of Wheat cookies (my favorites) and a card.

Then, Julie (my boss) with Brownies, and a paper making kit!

Then, Tacy with some Yellow Daffodils and a 12 pack of Diet Coke (my favorite) and a card.

They Spoiled me!

I got to eat lunch with all 6 (1 former) of my teammates! Julie, Mindy, Alex, Diane, Tacy & Megan. They Took me to Farestart! It was delicious! I ordered a meatball sandwich - the meatballs had greyer cheese in the middle of them - Delish!

After work, my husband met me downtown and we went to the market.
and enjoyed it's beauty
He bought me some Owl earrings
And then we went to Sur La Table to pick up our Dutch Oven.

And then, to the Steelhead diner (Best Diner ever) for some of this....
And he ate some of this... (blech)
We had such a great day... I love my hub.
And I really do love the Steelhead diner... my fave!
So Fancy... kinda
But really? a Great View!
After that - we went Uwajamia and I bought myself a Tofu Robot shirt (long story)

Then we went home... and THERE WAS CAKE!
HOME MADE FROM SCRATCH FROM CHEF ERIC'S KITCHEN CAKE!!!!!
And thankfully, not 27 candles :)
Look at how dense and delicious it was!
I only ate a slice... more for tonight :)
And then Eric gave me a kitty in a box... PSYCH - Gracie crawled into my critter's box.
And this is my new critter... Hootbert... I love him.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
