Organic - Products I Love

So... my skin has been FREAKING OUT! I touch anything and I break out from head to toe.. where did this come from?
I have tried nearly everything, with failure I turn to 100% Organic things... Thank GOD I live in Washington - there's a plethora of "Granola" ways to treat everything!
My dear friend Katherine knows of my skin conditions and gave me this for my birthday... I'm in Love. It's unscented... and 100% Vegan - Let's see what my skin thinks of that! It's from Ballard Organics!
Then, Eric and I stumbled upon this at the market... We love their Honey, Moon Valley also produces a variety of balms and salves that are heavenly for Psoriasis and dry skin. They also make a Wound Aide that kicks Neosporin's butt! Thank you Moon Valley Last, but not least... Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle shampoo... what a lifesaver. Normally, I can't make it through a bottle of shampoo without my scalp burning, but so far so good on this one, though maybe it's too soon to tell.
I'll cross my fingers, but if you're looking for something - you should try these products- they're great, and ORGANIC; which isn't something I'd normally care about, but apparently my skin does!!

my favorite favorite skin scrub is honey and white sugar. I mix it up in a little bowl with a lid and use it to scrub my face and rough patches in the shower. Sometimes I add baking soda because it's a finer grit. Sort of like the different levels of sand paper. works great, and I rarely have breakouts because of it.

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
