The Coworkers!

Working a 9-5 (or in my case 6:45-:15) job isn't as easy as it sounds. Sometimes you get tired of telling different people the same old rules every day, but having a group of co-workers like this is what makes it wonderful! This week we celebrated my Boss Julie's 50th birthday - we would have celebrated on her actual birthday but she's headed to Hawaii for the week to celebrate... the nerve. On Tuesday night we decorated her office in mostly black and purple, it raised the bar for decorating bosses offices for the rest of our office that's for sure. Then, today when we decided to take her out for lunch we also decided that we were going to dress in all black. The funny thing is, she didn't notice. It wasn't until lunch that we revealed to her that we were wearing all black to celebrate her birthday - and then the light bulb went on. The funnier part is that she pretty much participated without even trying. See that? All black with a white coat.

I digress... The point of this post is really that I have some pretty wonderful coworkers. We work hard and have fun together and though we may not always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for nothing!

Oh! Who's the girl in the front? I don't know her. Look at Tacy with the pig tails, so cute. Her hair is getting really long. Why does everybody but you look so stoic?

How fun for y'all! Cracked me up that she didn't notice the all black affair.

You're right. There's nothing like having a good, fun work crew to hang out with every day. Think of all the time we spend with these folks. Life is so much easier when you have a group that clicks together.

Happy Birthday Julie!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
