Ten on Tuesday

1- Mom's benefit was a HUGE success... Thank you to everyone who contributed. It means the world to all of us. Julie sent me this picture of the "grandkids" ...It makes me smile - I love these kids!
2- I'm feeling a bit grumpy today - Not sure what hit me, but maybe I need to head for the coffee.
3- I took yesterday off after working out the past 5 days in a row, it felt good - today is going to suck though.
4- RELAY FOR LIFE SPRING BAZAAR is on April 23rd at Normandy Park Senior Living - It's a fundraiser for Team Hope Corps, hope you can make it!
5- Aquaman got a bath last night and managed to scratch me 100 ways from Sunday, got me good on my face, thankfully this morning it was not as noticeable as it was last night.
6. I managed to find out more about my Sewing machine - it's a J 185, then My Computer contracted a virus, and it's now at the geek squad... BOOOOOOO.
7- Eric made homemade Cinnamon rolls on Sunday night - mmmmmmh breakfast.
8- I scored an awesome pair of Neon pink/blue & yellow shoes at Goodwill on Saturday for $5!
9- Saturday was awesome for many reasons, but mostly because I got to hang out with myself and be lazy, I feel like I needed that.
10- Burien Press is quickly becoming my favorite coffee shop... what I wouldn't do for a cup of french press and a brioche right now - watch out Starbucks!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
