Ten on Tuesday

1- Is it Tuesday all ready? Seems like I just posted 10 on Tuesday yesterday. I'm a bit dry today, so hang in there with me.
2- I did nothing this weekend. I repeat, NOTHING. I successfully watched an entire season of True Blood on Saturday Evening / Sunday Morning. NOTHING.
3- The Bright side of doing NOTHING this weekend - it kind of felt like a vacation. For the first time in months I've felt refreshed headed back to work on Monday Morning.
4- It's my boss Julie's big 5-0 next week, she's going to be out of town - madness begins this week! Muahahaha!
5- The orange creature that lives in my house and I got in a tiff this morning - she hissed, I flicked her in the nose, we both walked away angry. Yes, I still love her, and I didn't flick her hard, just enough to let her know who's REALLY the boss in this household.
6- I slid into Top Pot on my way to work this morning to get some doughnuts for my husband, because he LOVES Top Pot and has been reminding me how close I work to the store for the past couple weeks.
7- Derby is on Saturday - AAAH! DERBY!!!!
8- There's this crazy rumor that I'm trying out for a Derby team, I'm not... that I know of... yet.
9- Relay is like two months away - can you believe it? I should probably get in gear and get some stuff done for it!
10- Oh yeah and that fundraising thing... oye vey.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
