Monday Musings

It's been awhile since I've shared Monday Musings - They've moved to "Ten on Tuesday" but I think I should probably mix it up every once and awhile and give you a little of both.

A| This is my new skate bag. I haven't bragged it up yet, but you'd be amazed at how much crap you can shove in there! This is a pic of me headed to my first PFM. Eric is a very proud hubby and took this picture of me headed to the car! I was so nervous.
Anyways, back to the ZUCA bag... it's a must purchase!!!

B| Eric and I had a pretty eventful weekend. Not much of anything in particular, but he got to see both of his buddies Lee & James, I got to hang with Megan and do PFM, and I got to spend most of the day Sunday licking my wounds!

C| Aquaman and I hopped in the bathtub this weekend, he drew blood trying to get out. But he did smell lots better when we were done.

D| Also, He loves his new toy - Thanks Grammi Kay

E| Speaking of Kay, we went with her and Jackie to the Moon Pie Place in Chattanooga when we were on vacation, and this week my beloved Moon Pie cup broke, I'm so sad! So sad I might just have to hunt down a Moon Pie and eat it - Okay who's lying, I'll do that anyways.

F| I also purchased a new bag when I was in Jackson, it's a Yak Pak and I'm in Love! You'd also be amazed at how much these guys can hold, and I picked it up at Kohls.

G| I did the splits on my skates (not intentionally) on Saturday and I'm feeling the effects of that. Let's just say doing the splits on skates isn't the best way to stretch your muscles.

Okay, that's the end of my random musings. I'm tapped out for right now.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
