Ten on Tuesday

1| Some days we all need a little lift. This past few weeks have been a little like that for me. I just haven't been able to put my finger on it. A little alone time? More shopping? More Eric time? What fits right? What do I NEED to make me feel more like me? Last night... It was Toys R' Us. A little play, and the world seemed right again.

2| Some day I may regret posting those on the Internet, but they made me giggle this morning, so I'm hoping they'll do the same for you.

3| Eric has work today - he's helping our neighbor's move. I'm not happy about that, but mostly because we really love our neighbors Jay and Sonia, and we're not happy to see them leave.

4| Our birds have left their nest. They have been flying around the past couple days, but last night was the first time we went home and headed up stairs and when we looked up at the nest it was empty. Sadness.

5| Sunday morning I woke up to a couple Thumps like something was hitting the window. It was said mentioned birds, flying into our glass windows. I maybe have forgotten to mention earlier last week we had one fly in our house through an open door, I didn't say they were the brightest birds on the block!

6| I'm really kind of out of things to type. Wow. at Number 6... normally I get the block at number 8.

7| I am wearing a pair of New to me Van Eli shoes today - apparently they're a really expensive fancy shoe. But mostly they're red, and cute, and kind of like my ruby slippers for the day.

8| Eric bought two TWO crates of peaches at Costco last week - I'm nearly "peached" out.

9| Ronnebeck bootcamp is about to start up again - conditioning at practice is KILLING me, and it shouldn't.

10| My favorite picture from Toys R' Us last night, I know I've never seen Star Wars, but I may have to give in, as I found this little wookie, and I fell in love. Meet baby Chewy, and he might MAYBE be hanging on my backpack today... maybe.

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

Thoughts of the American Pride Persuasion

I sat, mesmerized as I watched the “Breaking News” of the past 24 hours – Osama Bin Laden, Dead. What? I can’t really deny my mixed feelings about posting today. I don’t normally jump into the political rings but I can’t deny the HUGE news that swept our nation yesterday. So, this post has been thought out, a lot, typed really slowly, every word, intentional. Which is a huge leap from my normal ramblings of a Monday morning. We were sitting on the couch watching a movie, the movie ended and Eric turned on the news, and we watched, in awe. Just like September 11 th , I’ll always remember where I was when I heard the news. I can’t say I was ready to strap on a flag superhero cape style, and run up and down the street chanting “USA… USA… USA” like hundreds and thousands of other Americans in DC and New York, but then again, I wasn’t near ground zero, in Pennsylvania or at the pentagon the day that Osama Bin Laden became a household name. The American in me wants to be happy and
