Our Feast!

This year did not disappoint in our tradition to go to Tim and Katherine's for our Thanksgiving feast! Eric and I were in charge of the Turkey and the Pies (as tradition goes) and Tim and Kat took care of the rest of the goodies.

This one --------->
Had to stay home, one, because she doesn't like dogs and Cosmo and Seven would want to play, and two, she's decided to try and scratch my new couches, and I am NOT pleased...
 I digress....

Every year I take the Thanksgiving pictures from the same angles so It's hard to tell the difference from year to year. But for the most part it looks like this. We arrive, Tim starts to carve, Kat finishes up a few touches and Eric helps with the potatoes... Me? That's right, standing in the corner taking pictures - exactly where you want me in a kitchen.
I couldn't love this photo more... That's Seven trying to get just a little sniff... or bite!
My little guy just hung out and watched from under the table - you know, because that's where he's "safe" from the big scary goldens.
 Our table ♥
After we were done eating, we all retired to the living room. No one really napped this year - though I tried, hard.
I had an earache so I was trying to make the med's work faster.

Cosmo was just itching for me to get up and move, so I did, and he totally moved in. Eric didn't mind sharing the couch with him!

He's such a pretty boy!

Tim Decided he wanted a little pie with his whipped topping.
We all loved the pies... Banana Cream was the most popular - YUM!

And the best part...

LEFTOVERS!!!!!!!

AN ENTIRE TOWER OF LEFTOVERS!!!!!!!!!

We hope you all had a warm and filling Thanksgiving!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
