Seven on Sunday

1| Since Ten on Tuesday was a challenge for me last week... and well, has been for a little while now, I'm going to change this up and go for a 7 on Sunday... we'll see how long this lasts, normally I totally forget about the internet world on Sundays, so well. Stay tuned!

2| I have been rewarding myself with 5 minutes on Pinterest for every time I get through my flash cards with my Series 7 studying. Let's just say 5 minutes on Pinterest isn't much so I tend to be itching to get on there, and speeding through my cards... new plan in place as of NOW.

3| Today was awesome - Katherine and I went gallivanting to the Wallingford / Phinney ridge area of the city. I really love that area! We started out with a Cupcake at Trophy (YUM) and then to the Sock Monster for a fancy new pair of socks to go along with my Grave Danger fandom. Then, we went to eat in the U district and then to an art gallery and a bit of grocery shopping to wrap things up. We also talked about our future plans, which will include another visit to Sock Monster and to a Chocolate Coffee place up near there and maybe even a trip to West Seattle. Joy to come!

4| Eric and I had a blast yesterday with Megan at the Rat City bout. To say it made me want to skate is an understatement, but seeing all their fancy footwork made me realize how NOT ready my knee is. Stupid ACL, who needs one any ways? I think I'll be going to a different doctor soon just to get myself on the right path to recovery as it's not going as well as I'd like.

5| Relay Kick Off is Next weekend! Hurrah! Come bowl!

6| Eric turns 35 this week! Crazy! I still haven't managed to find him a great birthday gift, but I did take the day off to spend with him, so I'm hoping that counts for something.

7| Tim is over right now and they're watching football, it's funny to hear them shout at the TV, let's just say ear plugs are my BFF right now in the study world. I better get back to it so I can fold some laundry and get some dinner. Happy Sunday everyone!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
