I ♥ Danger!

I have been scouting a new point and shoot camera for quite awhile. It's for those times when you're not purposely taking photos, but you're at an event where you'd like to take A photo that has better resolution than your phone.

I bit the bullet on Friday and bought a new Sony Cybershot. I had it narrowed down between that and a Canon Powershot, when I discovered that the Sony could do this...
Hello Panorama! When I bought it I thought - Oh that might come in handy for a few shots here and there, but after using it a little bit I kind of want to shoot EVERYTHING in panorama! It was great to hang out with Kat this morning, she graded papers, and I worked on my Series 7. Life is good.

Let's just say... New camera + Roller Derby = Happy!

I somehow caught Megan in the corner of that one... It also shows the President and CEO of my company enjoying the game - It was so fun to hang out with some co-workers and share the passion I have for this game!

Sending healing thoughts and vibes to Megan as she begins what is an uphill battle against a knee injury she sustained this morning. Stay strong lady - and all I can say is, I totally know how you feel.
The Grave Danger pulled out a win from what could be one of the most epic Derby bouts I have ever witnessed! After seeing a double ejection in the Sockit Wench vs: Throttle Rockets bout I totally didn't think I could be more amazed. But alas, Grave Danger surprises me and shows me what derby is really all about! I walked home with a HUGE smile on my face, and some hurt in my hands from cheering so hard - oh yeah, and a new shirt that says I ♥ Danger! I love this sport - I finally know how Eric feels about baseball - I can't get enough, and I want to share it's awesome with the world!
Speaking of awesome, I saw Quadzilla rolling around the track. This man could probably skate better with one wheel than I can with 8. He's amazing. He decided to amaze me even more by jumping over not one, but 3 derbygirls and a photographer - I can't WAIT to see what that shot looks like!

Thanks co-workers for the night of Awesome, and thank you Danger for a great match up!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
