Ten on Tuesday

1 | Blogger has changed up how I post on the back end, I'm not sure how I feel about it, It's too space-age-y. I feel like I'm way more professional of a blogger than I actually am, and really, how can that be a good thing?

2 | Friday is Comicon. Did you hear that? COMICON! I am so freaking excited! I totally plan on nabbing a few pieces of art from some artists that are there. I can't wait to see what I walk away with, but I'm hoping something that looks like this Batgirl drawing by Amy Mebberson. She's fantastic :)

3 | I managed to find 2 whole study hours at work today. I'm feeling pretty excellent about it!

4 | My Physical Therapist is having me work with a balance board. I gained some pretty great balance with Derby and learning to skate, but I'm not so sure that I have enough to successfully improve my knee via the balance board, but I trust her, so we'll just keep our fingers crossed and see what happens!

5 | I hate being "that" girl who blogs about the weather, but It's been crazy rainy here lately. So rainy that I had to quit carrying my new handbag to work because it's leather, and leather and water do NOT get along very well. I know, first world problems.

6 | Did I mention COMICON!!!!!! THIS WEEKEND!!!!

7 | Our Aqua-sitter isn't going to be able to watch him in June... Any takers? We don't pay very well, but you get to hang out with the worlds cutest dog!

8 | Speaking of that dog, he's been super snuggly lately. I can't complain.

9 | I am meeting up with Joanne, Kim and Donna on Thursday to do some Relay goodness. I'm super duper excited for that!

10 | I met up with Joanne last week too - I think she's quickly becoming one of my favorite people in the world. She's such a wonderful person.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
