Cats!

A couple weeks ago my co-worker Max e-mailed me and asked me if me and a friend (or my spouse) would want to go with him and his girlfriend Li to see the Broadway production of CATS at the Paramount in Seattle. If there's one rule I live by, it's never EVER turn down free tickets to see a Broadway musical. And wow, did that rule pay off for me this week!

I was so blown away by how much I liked this show! I mean, when you look at the pictures of the CATS production you would wonder who the hell would go see a production about cats, that look like the band White Snake dressed up like cats?

When I saw the poster I nearly turned around and thought "forget it". There was NO way I was going to enjoy this show, but Max had invited me so I was trying to stay optimistic.

But let me say... the tunes are catchy, the dancing was amazing, and the storyline... well, that's pretty bizarre but the rest of it was GREAT!

In fact, I downloaded a lot of the soundtrack from itunes the next morning I enjoyed it so much and I haven't been able to quit singing the Mr. Mistoffelees song...

And let's just say the amount of gyrating that this cat does is hilarious!  If you are in Seattle, it's worth the money to go. Though I gotta say, we had some of the MOST amazing seats in the house. Max told me "they were kind of good" and when we got there and I could nearly touch the stage from my seat I called him a liar. We were near the aisle where the cats entered and exited the stage so we often found ourselves face to face with a cat.

We didn't really know what to expect from this musical - but I think all four of us really enjoyed it! And we definitely all got chills when this song came on. It definitely inspires me to go to MORE musicals!

Plus... the Paramount is just beautiful!!! This is Max and Li walking down to our seats!!
We were so jazzed when we walked out of there - giggling like school girls.

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
