My Friend the Fainting Goat

I'm getting ready to sit down and study a bit - as per my usual regiment. It's always very helpful for me If I get what's on my mind off first so I can hunker down and really concentrate on those corporate bonds  - or whatever it is I'm reviewing tonight.

I don't have much to say... Weird for me. I've been kind of mute all week as my voice has decided to take a vacation and so I've been squeaking all week. My co-workers seem to find it quite entertaining!

I forgot to post this picture this weekend. So Really, that's the entire point of this post.

As we were walking back to the car on Sunday after enjoying some Fainting Goat Gelato I saw the sign and said "Hey Kat, I'll take your picture with the sign if you lay down like a fainting goat in front of it".  I fully expected her to tell me No.

Much to my surprise she was in front of the sign fainting like a goat. We laughed... a lot.
Though I think the guy in the background of this picture is relatively confused as to why Kat's acting like a fainting goat. Perhaps he has not yet eaten their Gelato.

Any how... back to the books!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...

Merry Craftmas!!

When I was little Mom had one of these to put out every Christmas. I remember her tossing it out having fixed its hot glue after every warm summer in the shed, she wasn't particularly attached to it but I was. Having collected enough baby food jars (finally) I put it together this weekend! Looks just like I remember it and now it is sitting in my closet awaiting its debut next weekend!
