Catch Up

I try, albeit not very hard to keep up here - and I think I blog more about blogging than I actually blog about real stuff. I plan on taking another month long blog challenge soon, but I can't do that until my series 7 is done with, otherwise you'll get entire posts about derivatives and bonds, and as much as that may help me, it's going to bore you to tears. Hell, I know what I'm talking about (most of the time) and it bores me to tears.

So for now, I ask for your patience with me, and to not quit reading in my slow times. I love that this is a place to connect with friends and family near and far.

This weekend...er... Saturday has been exactly what I needed. We woke up early (around 7) and headed to Uncle Gene's house in Auburn. There was a HUGE community garage sale going on in the Lakeland Hills development and we drove around and walked through nearly 45 different households having sales in their garages and lawn. We spent $15 and bought a few fun things - I got a new bag and a new wallet Eric bought a fun baseball game!

Then we came home (beat) and though we had tickets to the Rat City Championship, we totally skipped it and went to the Avengers instead. My idea (not his). I just needed a break from the norm, and though I love Derby, this weekend would have been my draft weekend, so the wound was a little fresh, and I just didn't have the energy to face that AND head into the city after a long day of garage sales. My only regret is that we didn't hang out with Uncle Gene longer.

Now I'm on the couch... tired, and happy and actually, truthfully - ready to study tomorrow!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
