SD - Last Day

The last day in SD we started with time at Grandma Nani's then Shannon, Erica and I drove up to Grandma and Grandpa Kneeland's house! We were invited for lunch, and excited to visit.

Grandma made us Lasagne, and blue berry pie - and then we had cookies and coffee, and Bruce & Diane stopped over!
Bruce pointed out to me that my coffee cup had the Kneeland Coat of arms on it, so I took a picture of it, who knew! Grandma Myla is working on a family tree book for me - I'm super excited.

Mostly, we just visited - and looked through Grandma and Grandpa's wedding album - I'll share those pics this week!
My Grandpa Harvey turned 86 this year, pretty handsome dude, don't ya think?
He gets around in his wheel chair pretty well - and Grandma helps him out a whole lot.

My Uncle Bruce (and his killer smile) and Aunt Diane.
Grandma's best friend - her Sewing Machine :) I managed to talk her into repairing a quilt for me (and Aquaman) it's in the mail on it's way to her as we speak.
I love that little ole' Grandma of mine.
I couldn't decide which of these I like best, Grandpa was making some smart alec remark (imagine that) and these shots all turned out really cute.

 :)
After Grandma & Grandpa's we headed back to Kathy's where I went out with Amanda to shoot her Maternity photos and everyone else was writing Thank you Notes.

This one had to leave to go see her Dad - I miss her already.
 We painted the boys' fingernails...
Cooper thought it was really funny!

Elio decided he needed to help by painting his Mom's nails...
And then these boys left... I miss them too!

It was a great trip to SD ... I wish I were there under better circumstances, but it was good to see the family!

The Wreath

It all started with Pinterest - yes, that rant about Pinterest still stands, but this was inspired from there. I wanted to recreate a wreath of bulbs, I hate buying wreaths since they expire year after year, this one will hang in my home for a LONG time, possibly till I die... that is how much I love how it turned out! So, being my crafty (and somewhat frugal) self, I set off to find the materials to make it. Finding that bulbs are not quite as cheap as you'd expect, I found them for 80% off.  This wreath, at cost would have run me about $125. ACK! I made it for under 35%! So pretty! So pleased! Many have asked me to make one for them - my answer - you buy the bulbs and materials and I'll glue it together!

My Happy Place

I have a lot of happy space in my world - but the happiest of all is Marvista Park in Normandy Park, just a few short miles from my house. It's the one place where I can go, be a kid, and then feel completely refreshed afterwards. Vacation is coming... T minus a few weeks now, and I feel like I've earned the crap out of it this year! But until then, a weekly trip to my happy place with the furry one should do it!  I love his little feet trying to take on the leaves! So cute.

8 Years Ago Today...

8 Years ago today... I was in the Kent/Des Moines Park and Ride puking in the bushes because I was SO Nervous about my first day at KMS. I didn't know If I could hack it in the big city. I didn't know a thing about being a Receptionist, and I didn't even know what a Broker/Dealer was, but I swallowed the lump in my throat and decided to take it head on. I've learned SO MUCH - an Immeasurable amount of life and work lessons from my 8 years at KMS, and I could muse all day long about the Farm Fresh 22 year old you see to the left and how naive she was. KMS has given me a gift of balancing a work life and a home life and still being able to give my 110% when I'm at work without losing my balance. When I walked in the door this morning, my co-workers had created this celebration from me, and after they arrived, it got bigger with gifts, and notes, and cards, and decorations. They wanted to celebrate me, and my achievements here, though If they would have kn...
